SCHEDULE “A”
BTL – DUTIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS
· Promote the library in the municipality
· Overall management of Bibliothèque Taché Library
· Acquisition of all library materials
· Circulation of the library collection, (in, out and overdues)
· Cataloguing library acquisitions
· Maintain library collection: books, periodicals, CD’s, DVD’s, Taché Totes,
Playaways, etc.
· Perform inter-library loans through Public Library Services
· Assist patrons with Libby elibraries MB for FREE ebooks and eAudio needs,
IPAC to search libraries on-line catalogue and EBSCOhost (an on-line reference
system offering a variety of educational databases)
· Provide library services to Ste. Geneviève monthly
· Implement library programs, for example: Story Time, (once a monthly), Summer
Reading Program, Community based early literacy and numeracy support, Book
Clubs, Lego Evening monthly contest, etc.
· Training and supervision of library personnel and/or volunteers
· Collect data for records, requests from Public Library Services and the board, compiling data for yearly report
· Maintenance of computers, for example: send tech requests for printers, digital
cameras, etc.
· Update website monthly
· Prepare a bilingual monthly newsletter prior to the 1st of the month
· Update outdoor sign
· Daily mail pick-up
· Attend board meetings and submit a monthly report
· Assist the Board in the decision making process
· Perform other duties assigned by the Board
Conditions
· The librarian has no Criminal Record, original criminal check from the R.C.M.P.,
must be submitted by the librarian prior to date of entry
· The librarian is not listed with the Child Abuse Registry. The librarian must submit an original copy of a Child Abuse Registry from the Province of MB prior
to date of entry
· The librarian has or will obtain Emergency First Aid & CPR/AED certificates before the end of the 6 months probation period
